Xiaomi’s Revolutionary Button-Less Smartphone to Launch in 2024

Xiaomi’s Button-Free Smartphone

New Delhi: Xiaomi is reportedly working on an innovative new smartphone, codenamed “Zhuque,” that could be the first fully buttonless handset. Expected to launch next year, this groundbreaking device would feature a touch-sensitive screen and a hidden under-display camera, eliminating the need for physical buttons altogether.

Button-Free Design

To achieve this sleek, button-free design, Xiaomi might employ capacitive or pressure-sensitive sensors. These sensors would replace traditional buttons for functions like power and volume control, offering a seamless experience. Vibration motors could be used to simulate the tactile feedback typically provided by physical buttons.

Early Development Stage

While this smartphone is still in its early development phase, it’s not guaranteed to launch. However, if it does, it would be among the first few devices to completely ditch physical buttons—a concept that has been teased by brands like HTC, Meizu, and Asus in the past but never fully realized in a commercial product.

Innovative Features

The rumored features suggest that Xiaomi is aiming to make its buttonless smartphone a flagship model. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 processor, indicating top-tier performance. The focus will likely be on maximizing the display experience, given the absence of physical buttons and the inclusion of an under-display camera.

The Future of Smartphones

If Xiaomi’s buttonless smartphone comes to market, it could set a new trend in the industry. The move towards digital or pressure-sensitive buttons started a few years ago, with the HTC U12 Plus in 2018, which featured pressure-sensitive buttons. The Asus ROG Phone 2 also introduced touch-sensitive zones as shoulder triggers, particularly useful for gaming.

As technology advances, we might see more smartphones adopting similar button-free designs, revolutionizing the way we interact with our devices.
