New Delhi: Italian luxury automaker Maserati has officially launched the 2024 GranTurismo sports car in India. This second-generation coupe is available in two variants: Modena and Trofeo, with prices starting at Rs 2.72 crore (ex-showroom). Additionally, an all-electric version, the GranTurismo Folgore, is set to debut next year.

Design and Dimensions

The new Maserati GranTurismo retains the iconic design of its predecessor, featuring a distinctive oval grille adorned with the Trident logo, which doubles as an air channel. The updated headlamps include L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), while the signature triple gills on the sides remain prominent. The rear showcases sleek LED taillamps and aerodynamic enhancements. The car is 78mm longer and 108mm wider than its predecessor but sports a shorter wheelbase.

Variants and Performance

The Modena variant offers a more understated look, while the Trofeo boasts a more aggressive design with carbon fiber elements. Both variants come equipped with 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels, though the Trofeo features a sportier wheel design.

Both the GranTurismo Modena and Trofeo utilize a 3.0-litre V6 Nettuno engine, derived from the MC20 supercar. The Modena generates 490bhp, while the Trofeo produces 550bhp, with power distributed to all four wheels. The Modena accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, while the Trofeo achieves this in just 3.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 320 km/h.

Interior and Technology

The cabin of the Maserati GranTurismo has undergone a significant redesign, featuring new displays and modern amenities. A central 12.3-inch display is paired with an 8.8-inch panel for climate control and other settings. The driver’s display measures 12.2 inches. The Trofeo variant adds a sportier aesthetic with carbon fiber accents and unique color options.

Pricing and Competitors

The Maserati GranTurismo Modena is priced at Rs 2.72 crore (ex-showroom), while the Trofeo starts at Rs 2.90 crore (ex-showroom). These prices do not include optional extras. The GranTurismo competes with luxury sports cars like the BMW M8 and Aston Martin DB12, positioning Maserati firmly in the high-performance market.
