Stylish Kia EV6 Facelift Design Patented in India

New Delhi: Following its global debut in May, Kia has patented the design of the EV6 facelift in India, signaling its upcoming launch in the Indian market. The Kia EV6, Kia’s first all-electric model for India, was introduced as a CBU in 2022. The updated EV6 is anticipated to launch next year, featuring a refreshed design, new features, and updated mechanicals.

EV6 Facelift Design Updates

The facelifted Kia EV6 showcases several notable design changes:

  • Front Facia: The new design includes more angular headlamps with a revised LED daytime running lamp signature stretching across the front. The updated front bumper now features new air vents, giving the EV6 a smoother, modern look.
  • Profile Changes: The profile of the EV6 remains largely unchanged, but the vehicle now sports new alloy wheels available in 19- or 20-inch sizes.
  • Rear Design: The rear of the vehicle has updated LED signatures in the tail lamps and a redesigned bumper for a more refined appearance.

Interior and Tech Enhancements

Inside, the Kia EV6 facelift offers several upgrades:

  • Curved Panoramic Screen: The digital instrument cluster and infotainment display are now integrated into a sleek curved screen.
  • New Steering Wheel: A new two-spoke steering wheel includes a fingerprint scanner, allowing registered drivers to start the car without a key.
  • Additional Features: The facelifted model includes a digital rear-view mirror, an improved head-up display, and an AI-based navigation system.

Powertrain and Performance

The EV6 facelift comes with significant powertrain improvements:

  • Larger Battery: The new 84kWh battery replaces the previous 77.4kWh unit. This upgrade provides a range of up to 494km in RWD-spec (229hp, 350Nm) and 461km in AWD-spec (325hp, 605Nm). The new battery supports 350kW DC fast charging, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
  • Market Position: The facelifted EV6 is expected to continue as an import in India. It will compete in the growing segment of premium electric crossovers, alongside rivals like the Mini Countryman Electric, BMW iX1, and Mercedes EQA, and its stablemate, the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The Kia EV6 facelift promises to be a compelling addition to the electric vehicle market in India, combining advanced technology with stylish updates.
