CAPSI to train 2 lakh Drone Warriors & Set up City Security Councils under Joint Security Innovation Centre Initiative
Delhi:– In a significant step towards enhancing urban safety and leveraging advanced technology for security, the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) under the aegis of the Joint Security Innovation Centre announced two ground breaking initiatives: launch of a Drone Warriors Task Force on 20th January and the formation of City Security Councils (CSC) in partnership with State Police on 23rd January 2025.
Drone Warriors Task Force: Harnessing Technology for National Security
The inaugural meeting of the Task Force on Drone Warriors held on 20th January, highlighting the importance of technology in modern security operations. Chaired by Sh. Anil Dhawan, the Task Force aims to train 2 lakh Drone Warriors from the private security sector. The comprehensive training program will adhere to standards set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). A proposal has been sent to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for upskilling to security personnel as Drone Warriors.

City Security Councils: Building a Safer Urban Future
In a parallel development the Task Force on City Security Councils (CSC) was held on 23rd January at the Constitution Club of India, marking a major milestone in the development of a robust National Citizens Security Culture. - Formation of City Security Councils in major metro cities across India. These councils will be established in collaboration with District Police, Private Security Agencies, Industry Associations, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and NGOs. A concept paper has already been sent to the Commissioners of Police in Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon.
- Corporate Partnerships: An invitation has been extended to corporates to support and contribute to the success of this initiative.
