Bengaluru Road Rage: IAF Officer Booked for Attempt to Murder After Call Centre Employee Files Counter Complaint

India: In a dramatic twist to the Bengaluru road rage incident, Vikas Kumar, a call centre employee, has filed an attempt to murder case against Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose of the Indian Air Force, accusing him of assault during a confrontation on April 21.

The incident, which occurred around 6:20 AM near Byappanahalli, gained widespread attention after Bose shared a video online alleging abuse and assault by Kumar, backed by a complaint from his wife, Squadron Leader Madhumita Dutta. However, CCTV footage and multiple witness statements reportedly contradict Bose’s version, portraying him as the aggressor. Link

According to Kumar’s FIR, the altercation began when a red Ertiga car brushed against his bike. When he confronted the driver, Bose allegedly exited the vehicle, pushed him, beat him, bit his hand, smashed his mobile, and attempted to strangle him. Kumar claims Bose threatened him while asserting his Air Force status.

Meanwhile, Bose claimed that the biker had targeted him for being a non-Kannadiga and allegedly hit him with a key. His wife stated the biker made threats after spotting a DRDO sticker on their vehicle.

Kumar’s family has demanded an apology and compensation, refuting any linguistic angle in the clash. “He’s not a commando, he’s a rowdy,” said Jyothi, Kumar’s mother, adding they plan to pursue defamation charges.

Police have booked Bose under multiple IPC sections including attempt to murder and are reviewing CCTV and eyewitness evidence. Link
