  • Strategically aligned with NEP 2020 and UN SDGs (4 & 9) to promote quality education, innovation, and inclusive development in underserved regions.
Leh, Ladakh | June 26, 2025: In a landmark step towards educational equity and grassroots innovation, SBICAP Securities, in collaboration with Ennoble Social Innovation Foundation, has launched state-of-the-art STEAM Labs at two key government schools in Leh — Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) and Government Higher Secondary School (Girls). This high-impact initiative is set to empower over 500 students to become the next generation of scientists, coders, engineers, and changemakers in the Ladakh region.

These labs are more than just upgraded classrooms – they are gateways to the future. Equipped with advanced tools such as AI & ML kits, renewable energy modules, DIY electronics, robotics systems, and IoT platforms, these facilities are designed to bring world-class interdisciplinary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education to one of India’s most remote and underserved geographies. Strongly aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 & 9), the initiative reimagines traditional classrooms as dynamic innovation hubs – redefining how students learn, think, and create.

Key features of the initiative are :

  1. Future-Ready Learning Environments: 20+ STEAM kit categories, from AI and robotics to renewable energy and DIY electronics.
  2. Tech-Integrated Classrooms: Laptops, smart TVs, testing screens, and printers to support digital literacy and innovation.
  3. Holistic Infrastructure Upgrade: Ergonomic workstations, modern interiors, and vibrant classroom spaces designed for collaboration and exploration.
Deepak Kumar Lalla, Managing Director & CEO, SBICAP Securities, remarked, “At SBICAP Securities, we are deeply committed to enabling meaningful change where it matters most. By establishing advanced STEAM Labs in government schools in Leh-Ladakh, we are investing not just in infrastructure, but in the limitless potential of young minds. In a region where access has long been a barrier, we are proud to deliver cutting-edge tools that spark curiosity, creativity, and innovation. This initiative reflects our vision of a more inclusive, empowered India – where every child, regardless of geography, has the opportunity to dream, build, and lead. Education is the true equalizer, and this is our step forward.”

Chirag Bhandari, CEO of Ennoble Social Innovation Foundation, said, “Bringing future-ready learning to a place like Leh isn’t just about delivering infrastructure—it’s about delivering possibility. With these STEAM Labs, we’re giving children the exposure, confidence, and skillsets they need to thrive in a tech-driven world, no matter where they are from. This intervention is part of Ennoble’s larger mission to make 100,000+ government school students future-ready by 2030—and this work in Leh sets a new benchmark for what’s possible in education transformation across India’s most underserved regions.”

“Earlier we only read about solar panels and circuits in books. Now we will be assembling them ourselves. It makes us feel like real scientists,” shared Rigzin Dolkar, a Class 11 student from the Girls’ Higher Secondary School. A science teacher added, “We used to rely on chalk and textbooks. Today, my students are coding and designing real-world solutions. It’s a revolution in our classrooms.”
