PM Modi to Hold Meeting with Chief Secretaries for Evaluation of ‘Ease of Living’ Matters

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to convene a three-day conference in the national capital, starting on December 28, where he will engage with chief secretaries to discuss pressing issues related to land, electricity, drinking water, health, and schooling. This will be the third such conference, following the inaugural event in Dharamshala in June of last year and the subsequent one in Delhi in January. The main objective of this conference is to put the principles of cooperative federalism into action, fostering participative governance and strengthening the partnership between the central government and state governments.

Over 200 participants, including representatives from the central government, chief secretaries, and senior officials, will come together to chart a collaborative path towards enhancing the quality of life and improving the delivery mechanisms of government interventions. The conference will place a particular emphasis on easy access to welfare schemes and the provision of high-quality services. Five key sub-themes—land and property, electricity, drinking water, health, and schooling—will be discussed in detail, with dedicated sessions on cyber security, aspirational blocks and districts, rationalization of schemes, and new-age technologies.

In addition to these topics, focused deliberations will address drug de-addiction and rehabilitation, the Amrit Sarovar project, tourism promotion and branding, the role of states in development, and the PM Vishwakarma Yojana and PM SVANidhi schemes. The conference aims to showcase best practices from various states and union territories, allowing others to replicate successful initiatives or tailor them to their own specific requirements.

Alongside these pressing discussions, the Prime Minister also took time to meet with 250 students from Jammu and Kashmir, as part of the ‘Watan Ko Jano’ program, which aims to provide exposure and broaden the horizons of young individuals. This interactive session provided an opportunity for the students to engage with the Prime Minister and gain valuable insights.
