Salman Khan’s Statement to Police on the Firing Incident

New Delhi: Salman Khan has informed the police that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang attempted to kill him and his family during a firing incident at his Galaxy Apartments residence in April. According to the chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), the actor was asleep when he heard a sound resembling firecrackers. His police bodyguard reported that two individuals on a motorbike had fired shots at his first-floor balcony around 4:55 am, prompting a complaint at the Bandra police station.

Khan revealed that previous threats had been made against him and his family, and the gang had spoken about killing them before. He believed that the gang, led by Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, was behind the firing, intending to harm them. Salman Khan’s brother, Arbaaz Khan, supported this claim, noting prior threats and an intrusion at their Panvel farmhouse. Arbaaz emphasized that Salman had always cautioned the family to stay vigilant.

Contrarily, the chargesheet details Anmol Bishnoi’s claim that the firing was meant only to intimidate Salman Khan. Anmol allegedly instructed the gunman to fire in the air to establish the gang’s dominance in Mumbai for financial gain. Conversations between Anmol and shooter Vickykumar Gupta suggested that the act was to create a media sensation, enhancing the gang’s notoriety.

The police have arrested six individuals in connection with the case. Among them, Anujkumar Thapan reportedly committed suicide in custody. The remaining suspects, including Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, and Harpal Singh, are currently in judicial custody.
