BMW R 1300 GS Lands in India at Rs20.95 Lakh
New Delhi: BMW Motorrad India has launched the highly anticipated R 1300 GS, its latest flagship adventure motorcycle. With a starting price of ₹20.95 lakh (ex-showroom), this powerful machine arrives as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU) and deliveries are expected to commence by the end of June. Compared to its predecessor, the R 1250 GS, the R 1300 GS carries a premium of ₹40,000.
More Power, Lighter Weight
The heart of the R 1300 GS lies in its new 1,300cc, twin-cylinder boxer engine. This horizontally opposed powerhouse delivers an impressive 143 horsepower and 149 Nm of torque, promising an exhilarating riding experience. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox positioned beneath the engine for optimal weight distribution. Interestingly, the R 1300 GS sheds 12kg compared to the R 1250 GS, contributing to its agility. However, riders may find the 19-liter fuel tank slightly smaller than the previous model’s 20-liter capacity.
Pro Variant with Extensive Customization
BMW offers the R 1300 GS Pro variant in India, catering to individual style preferences. Choose from three distinct options:
- Triple Black: This stealthy option offers a menacing presence and is the only variant compatible with the optional Adaptive Ride Height feature, which dynamically adjusts the motorcycle’s ride height for improved comfort and control.
- Style GS Trophy: Inspired by the legendary GS Trophy competition, this option boasts a rugged and adventurous aesthetic.
- 719 Tramuntana: Named after a challenging mountain range in Spain, this top-of-the-line variant prioritizes safety with radar-based features like Active Cruise Control and Front Collision Warning.
