BYD Atto 3: Thrilling New Entry-Level Variant!
What’s Inside
New Delhi: BYD India has teased a new product launch on July 10 through its social media channels. According to our sources, the Chinese EV manufacturer will introduce a new entry-level variant of the e-SUV Atto 3, equipped with a smaller battery pack.
New Atto 3 Variant Details
- New variant to feature a smaller 50kWh battery.
- Expected price range: Rs 26 lakh-28 lakh.
- To compete with MG ZS EV, Tata Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta EV.
What’s New in the BYD Atto 3 Variant?
Our sources reveal that the new Atto 3 variant will come with a smaller 50kWh battery pack. The current Atto 3 model features a 60.48kWh battery, offering an ARAI-certified range of 521km on a single full charge. The new 50kWh unit is anticipated to provide a slightly lesser range.
This entry-level variant will allow BYD to price the Atto 3 more competitively, directly challenging the higher-end models of the MG ZS EV. The MG e-SUV is priced between Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 25.20 lakh and comes with a 50.3kWh battery pack that offers a range of 461km. Currently, BYD retails the Atto 3 at Rs 33.99 lakh. The new variant is expected to be priced around Rs 26 lakh-28 lakh.
To reduce costs, BYD might omit some features from the new variant. It remains to be seen which features will be excluded. The Atto 3’s front-mounted electric motor produces 204hp and 310Nm of torque. It will be interesting to see if the new entry-level variant will have the same output or if it will be slightly detuned.
BYD Atto 3 New Variant Rivals
In addition to the MG ZS EV, the new entry-level Atto 3 trim will compete with upcoming e-SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra XUV.e8, Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti eVX.
All prices are ex-showroom India.
