New British Motorcycle Brand Set to Challenge Royal Enfield in India
New Delhi: The retro motorcycle market in India is experiencing rapid growth. Classic Legends, known for Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles, is gearing up to capitalize on this trend in a significant way. They have released a teaser that appears to showcase the engine of a 650cc motorcycle. Upon closer inspection, it is evident that the engine belongs to the BSA Goldstar, a model the company already sells internationally. The anticipated launch of the BSA brand in India has been confirmed, with the debut set for August 15, 2024.
BSA Goldstar: An Icon Returns
The BSA Goldstar is a legendary name in the motorcycle world, steeped in history and heritage. In its modern iteration, the Goldstar maintains a classic retro appearance while incorporating contemporary features. The motorcycle’s front end is dominated by a round headlamp, topped with a twin-pod instrument cluster. The fuel tank, which has a capacity of 12 liters, features an old-school design with the iconic round BSA logo. The single-piece seat, combined with a retro-styled tail lamp and fender, completes the bike’s vintage aesthetic.
BSA Goldstar: Engine and Transmission
Unlike the Royal Enfield Interceptor, which is equipped with a twin-cylinder engine, the BSA Goldstar will be powered by a 652cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. In international markets, this engine delivers 45bhp and 55Nm of torque. However, these specifications may be adjusted for the Indian market.
Stay tuned for more details as we approach the launch date. The BSA Goldstar’s arrival marks an exciting development in the Indian motorcycle scene, promising to blend classic style with modern performance.
