Tata Altroz to get six airbags and a bigger touchscreen
New Delhi: Tata Motors will soon introduce a range of updates for the Altroz premium hatchback. The updates will include a set of new features and safety tech, while the car will also gain three new variants.
Tata Altroz: new features and variants
Tata Motors is set to enhance the Tata Altroz with several new features, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to those found in the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. This upgraded screen will be available exclusively in the higher variants, starting from the new XZ Lux variant. Meanwhile, the lower and mid-level variants will continue to feature the existing 7-inch touchscreen.
In addition to the larger infotainment system, the Altroz will also be equipped with a 360-degree camera and a blind view monitor, starting from the XZ Lux variant. The new range-topping XZ+ S Lux variant will come with six airbags, ensuring enhanced safety. Another notable addition is the 7-inch TFT instrument cluster. However, it is worth noting that the Altroz will no longer include leatherette seats, which will now be reserved for the upcoming Altroz Racer model. The newly introduced variants are the XZ Lux, XZ+ S Lux, and XZ+ S Lux Dark, with pricing details yet to be announced. These updates reflect Tata Motors’ commitment to providing advanced features and safety enhancements, further solidifying the Altroz’s position in the premium hatchback segment.
Tata Altroz: powertrains
The Tata Altroz will continue to be available with its existing engine lineup, comprising the 88hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, the 74hp, 1.2-litre petrol + CNG engine, and the 90hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, previously available with the i-Turbo variants, will now be offered exclusively with the new Altroz Racer. This engine has been upgraded to deliver 120hp and 170Nm of torque, and it will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Altroz Racer launch soon
The Tata Altroz Racer will go on sale very soon, with bookings already open. It will directly rival the Hyundai i20 N Line while also give competition to the Maruti Fronx turbo-petrol variants. The Altroz Racer will be available in three variants, and will be positioned above the standard Altroz.
