100 Global Dignitaries Converge for Historic Ram Temple Inauguration in Ayodhya

New Delhi: In a historic gathering, over 100 distinguished international guests representing 53 countries are set to attend the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22. Notable invitees include a US-based oncologist, a senior fellow at Nokia Bell Labs. Indiana, a Norwegian parliamentarian, a New Zealand scientist, a Fijian industrialist, and several saints who have established Hindu schools in the Caribbean.

US-based oncologist Dr Bharat Barai, who played a key role in lobbying for Narendra Modi’s visa approval in 2014, appeared as the chief guest. At the time, Modi faced a 10-year visa ban imposed by the US. Government. Dr. Barai, a strong supporter of the BJP, has since hosted several party stalwarts at his residence in the US and has actively worked to strengthen ties between Israel and India.

Dr. Abhay Asthana, Fellow at Nokia Bell Labs-CTO in Indiana and President of the World Hindu Council of America, is another prominent invitee from the US. Himanshu Gulati, Norwegian MP and former office worker in the office of the Prime Minister of Norway, will play an important role representing Scandinavia’s Hindu community. New Zealand scientist Professor Guna Mageson, who also serves as the general secretary of the Hindu Council of New Zealand, will represent the Indian diaspora at the ceremony.

Fiji, with its significant Indian diaspora, will be represented by Jai Dayal, owner of the country’s largest steel manufacturing company. The guest list also includes leaders from various countries like UK, Germany, Italy, Australia, Canada and South Asia.

Expressing excitement among Hindus globally over the event, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) joint general secretary Swami Vigyananand said some dignitaries had to be excluded due to safety protocols advised by the central administration. He mentioned the possibility of organizing separate visits for such dignitaries in future.

The gathering not only reflects the religious significance of the Ram temple, but also reflects the global resonance of this event, bringing together people from different backgrounds and regions to witness this historic moment in Ayodhya.
