New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Ayodhya’s modern airport and revamped railway station on December 30, ushering in a wave of development in the historic pilgrim town. The newly constructed Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, designed at a cost of ₹1,450 crore, boasts a passenger terminal blending traditional aesthetics inspired by the upcoming Ram Mandir with modern amenities. This 6,500 sq.m. terminal is adorned with local art depicting Lord Ram’s life and features eco-friendly elements like LED lighting and rainwater harvesting.

Accompanying this landmark inauguration are the launch of Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains, promising improved travel experiences and faster connectivity. Additionally, the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, costing over ₹240 crore, stands as a three-storey green-certified structure, equipped with elevators, escalators, and food plazas for convenience.

PM Modi’s visit also marks the foundation laying for projects worth ₹15,000 crore, focusing on civic infrastructure, a greenfield township, conservation efforts for historical sites, and a residential scheme, aiming to enhance Ayodhya’s cultural heritage and overall appeal.

This unveiling signifies a significant step towards boosting the local economy, promoting tourism, and paving the way for Ayodhya’s holistic growth. As the town gears up for the forthcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22, these infrastructural advancements set the stage for a new era of progress and prosperity in Ayodhya.
