Noida to Ayodhya Direct Bus: UPSRTC Prepares for Pilgrimage Rush

New Delhi: As expectations are rising regarding the newly constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is preparing to start direct bus service to Ayodhya from Noida depot. The move has been taken in response to the growing demand for convenient and direct transportation to the holy city.

Currently, commuters from Noida face a challenge as there is no direct bus to Ayodhya from Noida depot. Additionally, the bottleneck posed by CNG buses, which cannot cover long distances in one go, has prompted officials to formulate a strategic plan.

According to NP Singh, assistant regional manager, UPSRTC Noida, CNG buses run up to 500 km on a full tank. Considering that the distance from Noida to Ayodhya is approximately 650 km, Noida Depot plans to address this by arranging for a CNG filling facility in Lucknow, which will effectively cover the entire distance. The fare structure for these new routes has not been finalized yet.

“We are planning one or two buses for Ayodhya and depending on the demand, we will add more buses,” said an official on condition of anonymity. The decision follows instructions from the UPSRTC head office in Lucknow, which has directed all depots to prepare routes and plans for Ayodhya after January 22.

To ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience, it is advisable to run at least one bus from each depot on the existing routes on the Ayodhya route. UPSRTC, with its fleet of 377 buses in Noida and Greater Noida, is taking proactive steps to accommodate the surge in demand and facilitate the pilgrimage to Ayodhya.
