Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates 2 Amrit Bharat and 6 Vande Bharat Express Trains in Ayodhya

New Delhi: During his visit to Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a celebratory event by inaugurating two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat Express trains from the newly redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Railway Station. The town was filled with festive cheer as it eagerly anticipated the forthcoming consecration of the grand Ram Temple on January 22, 2024.

The Amrit Bharat category offers a new class of superfast passenger trains featuring the LHB push-pull mechanism. Notably, these trains are equipped with non-air-conditioned coaches and have locomotives at both ends to facilitate better acceleration. Renowned for their enhanced passenger amenities, Amrit Bharat trains boast beautifully designed seats, improved luggage racks, convenient mobile charging points with suitable holders, LED lights, CCTV surveillance, and a comprehensive public information system.

The newly introduced Amrit Bharat trains include the Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express and the Malda Town-Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru) Amrit Bharat Express.

The launch of the Vande Bharat Express trains was also a highlight of the event. These trains commenced their services with routes including Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi, Amritsar-Delhi, Coimbatore-Bangalore Cantt, Mangalore-Madgaon, Jalna-Mumbai, and Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal. Notably, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to dedicate three significant railway projects worth ₹2,300 crore to strengthen the rail infrastructure in the region. These projects encompass the Rooma Chakeri-Chanderi third line project, as well as the Jaunpur-Tulsi Nagar, Akbarpur-Ayodhya, Sohawal-Patranga, and Safdarganj-Rasauli sections of the Jaunpur-Ayodhya-Barabanki doubling project. Additionally, the doubling and electrification project of the Malhaur-Daliganj railway section were also inaugurated.

This momentous occasion heralds a new chapter in Ayodhya’s railway connectivity and serves as a testament to the focused efforts toward enhancing transportation within the region. These developments will greatly benefit pilgrims, tourists, and commuters, providing them with enhanced facilities and an improved travel experience.
