King Charles honors Blackpink for environmental efforts
Delhi: King Charles III bestowed honors upon the K-pop group BLACKPINK on Wednesday, acknowledging their efforts in promoting awareness of climate change. Members Jennie Kim, Jisoo Kim, and Lalisa Manoban were appointed as honorary Members of the Order of the British Empire during a ceremony held in the 1844 Room at Buckingham Palace. This recognition is part of the British honors system, which celebrates exceptional contributions to both the nation and the global community. Non-U.K. citizens and individuals outside the 14 realms receive honorary versions of these awards. Following the ceremony, BLACKPINK members Rosé, Jennie Kim, Jisoo Kim, and Lalisa Manoban posed for photos with King Charles, South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol, and the First Lady of South Korea, Kim Keon Hee.
