Raayan box office collection day 5: Dhanush film crosses ₹50 crore in India
New Delhi: Raayan, directed by and starring Dhanush, has surpassed ₹50 crore nett in India within its first five days. The film earned an estimated ₹4.5 crore nett at the domestic box office on Tuesday, its fifth day of release.
Raayan had an impressive start at the box office with ₹13.65 crore nett on day 1, followed by ₹13.75 crore nett on day 2, and ₹15.25 crore nett on day 3. On day 4, Monday, the film saw a dip, collecting ₹5.8 crore nett. On Tuesday, day 5, it earned ₹4.5 crore nett, with a Tamil occupancy rate of 22.48 percent. The film’s total collection in India now stands at an estimated ₹52.95 crore nett.
Telugu actor Mahesh Babu congratulated Tamil star Dhanush for his “brilliant” acting and direction in Raayan on Tuesday. He praised the cast and crew, including music composer AR Rahman, for their outstanding performances. Mahesh Babu’s post on X highlighted the stellar acts by Dhanush, S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Sundeep Kishan, and others, calling Raayan a must-watch. Dhanush expressed gratitude, thanking Mahesh and sharing his team’s excitement.
On Monday, Dhanush expressed his gratitude to fans for their response to Raayan, which he called the best birthday gift ever. Dhanush, who turned 41 on July 28, saw his film released on July 26, just two days before his birthday. Raayan features a star-studded cast including SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Saravanan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles.
