New Delhi: Rima Das’ “Village Rockstars 2,” the highly anticipated sequel to her 2017 critically acclaimed film, has been selected to compete for the prestigious Kim Jiseok Award at the 2024 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). This selection marks another significant achievement for Das, who has been a prominent figure in Indian independent cinema.
“Village Rockstars 2” follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, “Village Rockstars,” which garnered international acclaim after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017. The original film went on to win several National Awards in India, including Best Feature Film, and was chosen as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards in 2019.
