New Delhi: Shark Tank India Pitcher Accused of Misleading Customers ,a Pathik Patel, the founder of Fit & Flex, shared his grievances about his experience on the latest season responds to Deepinder Goyal, Anupam Mittal . Patel, who appeared on the show to pitch his brand, expressed frustration over how he was treated by judges Anupam Mittal and Deepinder Goyal, and criticized the channel for allegedly editing out key parts of his pitch.
Pathik Patel recounted his experience during an appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast, where he revealed that his primary goal in participating in the show was to build brand awareness, with funding being a secondary concern. However, things took a turn when Mittal and Goyal raised concerns about one of the ingredients in his products, accusing him of misleading customers by branding his products as ‘healthy.’
Pathik Patel defended his product, particularly the use of oligofructose, which he argued is not an artificial sweetener and does not cause a spike in sugar levels as Mittal suggested. He expressed disappointment that Mittal, whom he respected, was unwilling to listen to his explanations, despite the scientific evidence Pathik Patel provided.
He also addressed Goyal’s critique of his brand’s tagline, “Eat healthy, live well.” Pathik Patel clarified that his intention was not to claim his products as the epitome of health, but rather as healthier alternatives to competitors. Pathik Patel also noted that a key part of the conversation, where Namita Thapar defended the health benefits of oats against Mittal’s comments, was edited out.
Despite a temporary spike in sales following the show,Pathik Patel admitted that the experience left him deeply demotivated, and he even sent a legal notice to the channel, alleging financial losses due to the negative portrayal.
