6 J&K officials sacked for involvement in narco-terror network linked to Pakistan’s ISI

New Delhi: Six officials from Jammu and Kashmir have been dismissed for their involvement in a narco-terror network connected to Pakistan’s ISI. This action underscores the ongoing efforts to address security threats and maintain stability in the region.

Six government officials, including policemen, have been dismissed in Jammu and Kashmir for their alleged involvement in financing terrorism through drug sales. This measure highlights ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and narcotics-related activities in the region.

The investigation revealed that the dismissed officials were involved in a sophisticated narco-terror network orchestrated by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and various terror groups based in Pakistan. This network was reportedly used to finance terrorism through drug sales, further complicating the security landscape in the region.

The narco-terror network was responsible for facilitating the flow of narcotics, with the proceeds being used to fund terrorist activities. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha used Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution to terminate the employment of these officials without an inquiry, citing security concerns. This provision allows for dismissal without a formal inquiry if deemed necessary for state security.

Since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, the administration has dismissed 70 government employees on similar grounds.

Last month, four government employees, including two police constables, were dismissed for their alleged involvement in narco-terrorism. This action is part of ongoing efforts to address and disrupt narco-terror networks and ensure security in the region.
