Wabtec and Ennoble partner to revamp infrastructure to impact over 678 students at Hosur
Hosur — Government High School, Mookandapalli, located on Motham Road near Sudappa Kalyana Mandabam in Hosur, has undergone a transformation.
This remarkable change has been made possible through the support of Wabtec Corporation, whose CSR partnership with Ennoble Social Innovation Foundation has breathed new life into the school campus — and what was once a school with crumbling walls and non-functional toilets has now been turned into a safe, vibrant, and future-ready learning space — impacting 678 students.
A few years ago, the school’s strength had crossed 1000. But a lack of basic infrastructure — especially functioning toilets — caused the numbers to drop significantly. Teachers report that students, particularly girls, began dropping out due to unhygienic conditions. Today, after this transformation, they’re seeing signs of change.
“We’ve already seen a 20% increase in regular attendance,” says Ms. Rajalakshmi, a teacher at the school. “Children come earlier, stay engaged longer, and take pride in their campus. With these changes, we are hopeful that the school strength will grow again in the coming academic year.”
These outcomes not only reflect an upgrade in physical infrastructure, but also a boost in morale, learning enthusiasm, and a strong sense of school ownership among students.
Safety has also taken center stage in the transformation. With CCTV cameras installed across key zones, both students and parents now feel more secure — reinforcing trust in the school as a safe space for learning.
