IISc Bengaluru Mourns PhD Student’s Unexpected Death

New Delhi: A devastating incident shook the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru as a 21-year-old PhD student, Diamond Kushwaha, tragically passed away, reportedly by suicide. The heart-wrenching incident unfolded when Diamond allegedly leapt from the sixth floor of the campus hostel. Rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared deceased upon arrival.

Authorities are grappling with the absence of a suicide note, seeking answers to this profound and distressing act. The grieving parents have been informed, awaiting the completion of post-mortem procedures before claiming their beloved child.

Expressing deep condolences, IISc acknowledged the loss of the student pursuing Integrated PhD at the Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit (SSCU). The institution vowed to uphold a safe and supportive environment for all its members.
