India’s Ambitious Ascent: PM Modi Envisions Third-Largest Economy in Uttarakhand

“Investment summit reveals opportunities for growth and self-reliance”

New Delhi: In a visionary address at the ‘Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that India will secure its position as the world’s third largest economy during his third term. Modi invited investors to the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun to participate in a tour of “divinity and development” of Uttarakhand.

Modi’s optimism stems from a combination of factors, including a stable government, supportive policies, a transformational mindset and a strong belief in national development. He urged business leaders to embrace Uttarakhand and utilize its untapped potential in various sectors.

The Prime Minister stressed the imperative for India to promote export-oriented manufacturing while staying away from dependence on other countries. For self-reliance, he urged entrepreneurs to focus on domestic capacity building, especially in critical sectors like petro products, coal and pulses.

In line with the summit’s theme, “Peace to Prosperity”, Modi encouraged a national SWOT analysis identifying aspirations, innovations and opportunities. He praised Uttarakhand’s commitment towards good governance and called stability an important factor in the state’s progress.

Highlighting India’s resilience in the face of global challenges, Modi underlined the government’s dedication to enhancing ease of doing business, improving connectivity and advancing infrastructure. The Prime Minister highlighted ongoing and upcoming projects in Uttarakhand from Char Dham Road to Delhi-Dehradun Elevated Express Road and projected these as catalysts for business growth.

Emphasizing the untapped potential of Uttarakhand, especially tourism, Modi urged investors to explore opportunities in nature, culture, heritage, yoga, Ayurveda and adventure tourism. He celebrated the rise of an ambitious India, lifting millions out of poverty and contributing to a strong consumption-based economy.

Launching the “House of Himalaya” brand, Modi supported ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local for Global’ initiatives, particularly supporting women self-help groups. The two-day summit, themed “Peace to Prosperity”, promises to attract global investors, ministers and industrialists, opening doors to new partnerships and opportunities in the heart of the Himalayas.
