Jharkhand Seeks Navy Assistance in Search for Missing Aircraft

New Delhi: Jharkhand is Seeking Navy Assistance in Search for Missing Aircraft .A training aircraft that went missing shortly after take-off from the Sonari aerodrome in Jamshedpur on Tuesday remains unlocated, as confirmed by officials on Wednesday. The two-seater aircraft, operated by a private aviation company, was carrying a pilot and a trainee pilot when it disappeared from radar shortly after departure.

The Seraikela-Kharswan district administration in Jharkhand has sought assistance from the Indian Navy to intensify the search operation for the missing aircraft. Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla informed that the request for Navy support was made in light of the challenging terrain and the suspected location of the crash.

Authorities suspect that the aircraft may have crashed into the Chandil dam, located within the district. The area surrounding the dam is dense and difficult to navigate, making the search operation particularly challenging. Local police, disaster management teams, and aviation experts have been combing the region since Tuesday, but no trace of the aircraft has been found so far.

The involvement of the Indian Navy is expected to bring in advanced search and rescue capabilities, including sonar equipment and specialized divers, to aid in locating the aircraft. The Navy’s expertise in underwater search operations is deemed crucial, given the suspicion that the aircraft may be submerged in the dam.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety protocols of private aviation companies operating in the region. The families of the missing pilots are anxiously awaiting updates as the search operation continues. Further information will be provided as the search progresses.
