Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took strict steps against noise pollution.

New Delhi: In his inaugural order as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav has issued a directive to ban loudspeakers and DJs exceeding the prescribed sound limit at religious functions and public places. Emphasizes adherence to the orders imposed by the State Government, Noise Control Act, Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules (2000), and guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court and High Court.

The rules dictate that loudspeakers and DJ equipment can be used only within defined norms at religious or public places. Specific volume limits have been established for different areas: 75 dB in industrial areas during the day and 70 dB at night, 65 dB in commercial areas during the day and 55 dB at night, 55 dB in residential areas during the day and 45 dB during the night, and 50 dB in the silent zone during the day and 40 dB at night.

These squads will conduct surprise inspections at religious and public places, investigate violations within a maximum of three days and submit reports to the administration.
