New Delhi: Chief Imam of All India Imam Organization Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi revealed that he has received a ‘fatwa’ to participate in the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ayodhya Ram Temple on January 22. The prominent Muslim cleric expressed his decision to attend the ceremony as an effort towards harmony and unity in the country.

Speaking to ANI, Dr Ilyasi confirmed the ‘fatwa’ issued against him, saying, “As a Chief Imam, I received an invitation from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. I deliberated for two days and then went to Ayodhya and decided to go.” Harmony, for the country.”

Despite facing threats and receiving a ‘fatwa’, Dr Ilyasi remained steadfast, insisting that he committed no crime by attending the ceremony. He also expressed his commitment to promoting the message of love refused to apologize or resign and urged those who opposed his stance to consider moving to Pakistan.
