Over 24,000 Indian-Americans Register for Mega NY Event with PM Modi
New Delhi: Over 24,000 members of the Indian-Americans have signed up to attend a highly anticipated community event in New York, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the gathering next month. The event, titled ‘Modi & US: Progress Together,’ is scheduled to take place on September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, a venue with a seating capacity of 15,000.
The event is being organized by the Indo-American Community of USA (IACU), which announced on Tuesday that the number of registrations has exceeded expectations, with over 24,000 Indian-Americans expressing their interest in attending. This overwhelming response highlights the enthusiasm and support for Prime Minister Modi within the Indian-American community.
Given the large number of sign-ups, the organizers are likely to arrange additional provisions to accommodate the attendees or manage the overflow, as the venue’s capacity falls short of the total number of registrants. The event is expected to be a significant gathering, reflecting the strong ties between the Indian diaspora in the United States and India.
The ‘Modi & US: Progress Together’ event will focus on celebrating the contributions of the Indian-American community to the U.S. while strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations. Prime Minister Modi’s address is anticipated to cover a range of topics, including the progress made in India-U.S. relations and the role of the diaspora in fostering this partnership.
As the date approaches, the excitement continues to build among Indian-Americans, with many eagerly awaiting the opportunity to hear from Prime Minister Modi in person.
