PM to Inaugurate National Conference of District Judiciary on August 31

New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the National Conference of District Judiciary on August 31, 2024, at 10 AM at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event marks a significant milestone, as the Prime Minister will also unveil a commemorative stamp and coin celebrating 75 years of the Supreme Court of India’s establishment, underscoring the institution’s pivotal role in the nation’s legal framework.

Organized by the Supreme Court of India, this two-day conference will bring together key judicial figures to deliberate on critical issues facing the District Judiciary. The conference will feature five working sessions focused on various aspects of judicial administration, including Infrastructure and Human Resources, Inclusive Courtrooms for all, Judicial Security and Wellness, Case Management, and Judicial Training. These discussions aim to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the judiciary at the district level, which serves as the foundation of the legal system in India.

The inaugural program will be graced by the presence of the Chief Justice of India, other esteemed Judges of the Supreme Court, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice, the Attorney General of India, the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, and the Chairman of the Bar Council of India. Their participation highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges faced by the judiciary and in driving reforms that ensure justice is accessible and equitable for all.

This conference is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the District Judiciary in India, fostering dialogue, and generating actionable insights that will contribute to the judiciary’s overall development and modernization.
