Pran Pratishtha Ceremony: Resounding ‘Jai Shree Ram’ in New York’s Times Square

New Delhi: The grand consecration ceremony of Lord Ram at the Ayodhya temple echoed in New York City’s Times Square as hundreds of Indians gathered to celebrate the historic event. The atmosphere echoed with slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ as NRIs in Times Square waved saffron flags to celebrate the inauguration of the Ram temple.

The event saw the presence of Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati, a Stanford University graduate who has lived in Rishikesh for the last 30 years, who addressed the crowd. Expressing the significance of this moment he said, “Coming back home today, we have opened not only a Ram temple but also a Rashtra Mandir. It will stand as a temple of unity. This is the temple for which we have dedicated Rs. 500 crores. Had waited more years.” ,

The festivities at Times Square included lively dance performances, adding to the festive spirit. The resonance of cultural pride and religious fervor reached beyond India’s borders, creating a shared jubilation among the Indian diaspora.

Meanwhile, in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ram temple by unveiling the idol of Ramlala. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony began with the Prime Minister showering petals on the idol of Jatayu in the temple premises and offering prayers to Lord Shiva at Ayodhya Dham. Along with this program, there was a symbolic shower of petals on the temple by army helicopters, which further enhanced the sacred atmosphere.

During the Pran Pratistha ceremony, Prime Minister Modi reflected on the historical significance of the occasion, saying, “This is not only a moment of celebration for all of us, but also a reflection of the coming of age of Indian society. This occasion is as much of victory as it is of humility. The world is full of examples of countries that faced great difficulties in resolving historical wrongs and injustices. The ceremony marks not only a religious milestone but also an important step for Indian society.
