Rajasthan Cabinet Approves Major Reforms in Employee Welfare Schemes
New Delhi: The Rajasthan Cabinet, in a meeting held on Wednesday, made several significant decisions aimed at improving the welfare of state employees, farmers, and the power infrastructure, while also advancing the development of rail transport in the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel briefed reporters on the key outcomes of the meeting. One of the notable decisions is the enhancement of the gratuity and death gratuity benefits for state employees. The cabinet approved an increase in the maximum limit of these benefits from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh, marking a substantial improvement in the financial security of the state’s personnel.
In another employee-centric move, the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) has been expanded to provide greater flexibility to male and female personnel in selecting their dependents for medical coverage. On the lines of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), employees can now choose to include either their parents or in-laws under the RGHS, provided they are dependent and reside with the employee. This decision aims to offer broader healthcare support to the families of state employees, acknowledging the evolving needs of the workforce.
These decisions are part of a broader agenda by the Rajasthan government to enhance welfare measures across various sectors. The focus on employee and farmer welfare, along with efforts to strengthen the power system and develop rail transport, reflects the government’s commitment to holistic development. The meeting underscored the importance of providing robust support systems for state employees and farmers, while also ensuring the state’s infrastructure keeps pace with growing demands.
