New Delhi: The recent terror attack in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, where nine people lost their lives and 41 were injured, has raised doubts about the BJP’s claims of peace in the region. Among the victims were individuals from Jaipur and Balrampur, indicating the attack’s wide-ranging impact.
The targeted bus, traveling from Shiv Khori temple to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, was ambushed near Teryath village in Poni area. The attackers struck when the bus slowed down at a bend, firing indiscriminately before disappearing into dense foliage. This attack method, seen previously in Rajouri and Poonch, exploits the terrain’s features.
Security forces swiftly responded by deploying 11 teams along different axes, guided by leads and inputs. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is aiding local authorities in the investigation. Drones are assisting in the search for terrorists, while additional security measures, including reinforcements and heightened vigilance, are in place. Nearby combat outposts of the Indian Army are secured.
A search operation for terrorists is ongoing, with injured individuals promptly receiving medical attention. Local authorities and security forces acted promptly, cordoning off the area and initiating investigations to address the situation effectively.
