Renovated Pragati Maidan all set to host India International Trade Fair: A grand event to unite nations
New Delhi: Get ready for a trade fair like never before, as the 42nd edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) begins today at the Bharat Mandapam, located in the revamped Pragati Maidan complex. Running from November 14 to 27, this annual flagship event promises a dynamic showcase under the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – United by Trade”.
However, along with the great excitement has come a warning from the Delhi Traffic Police, which anticipates huge congestion on major roads including Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Ring Road, Sher Shah Road and Purana Qila Road. Plan your commute wisely and stay away from these routes!
This year’s fair is a global affair, with a focus on states like Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand and Maharashtra, along with participation from 13 foreign countries like Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iran, Vietnam. China, South Africa and Korea are notably absent due to the ongoing pandemic.

This edition promises to be the largest yet, spanning 110,000 square metres, utilizing all exhibition halls, and hosting an expected attendance of over 1,000,000 attendees. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation facilitates entry ticket sales at 55 metro stations with an emphasis on the use of public transport.
To ease the flow, basement parking for 3,000 vehicles has been introduced in the renovated complex, which makes its debut during the fair. Cultural evenings showcasing regional art forms and renowned artists will be held in three amphitheatres and a musical fountain, making the trade fair a diverse and vibrant experience.
