New Delhi: Manorama Khedkar, mother of trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar, was detained by Pune Rural police after a viral video showed her brandishing a gun and threatening farmers during a land dispute in Pune’s Mulshi tehsil. The incident, which occurred about a year ago, led to an FIR being filed against her and her husband, Dilip Khedkar, among others. The detention followed a viral video that showed her in a heated altercation with neighbors in Dhadwali village, Pune, where she was seen waving a pistol at a man while accompanied by security guards. Puja Khedkar faced backlash for allegedly demanding a separate office and official car and unauthorized use of a beacon on her private car during her posting in Pune. She is also accused of misrepresenting her eligibility as an OBC non-creamy layer candidate in her UPSC application and falsely claiming visual and mental disabilities, which she refused to validate through tests.
