Unraveling the Controversy: RSS Clarifies Position on Nationwide Caste-Based Census

New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has addressed its stance on the caste census, emphasizing its support for the process but highlighting the need for utilizing the data for societal advancement. This clarification follows recent conflicting statements within the RSS regarding the nationwide caste-based enumeration.

Initially, a senior RSS functionary expressed opposition to the caste census, citing concerns about societal divisions and national unity. However, the RSS’s publicity officer, Anand Ambedkar, reiterated the organization’s position, emphasizing that while they don’t oppose the census, it should contribute to overall societal development without compromising harmony.

Ambedkar emphasized the RSS’s commitment to creating a fair Hindu society, striving for social justice and equality. He highlighted historical disparities and voiced support for measures aimed at empowering marginalized sections of society.

The RSS aims to ensure that the caste census discussion doesn’t escalate into a political issue, advocating for a comprehensive approach to societal development without causing discord.

This clarification from the RSS seeks to bridge conflicting statements and underscores the importance of utilizing caste census data for societal progress while maintaining social harmony.
