2025 BMW X3 : A Sneak Peak !

New Delhi: The upcoming fourth-generation BMW X3 is set for a global unveiling soon, showcasing significant enhancements in size, aerodynamics, and powertrain options. Despite being camouflaged in initial images, BMW boasts a drag coefficient reduction from 0.29 to 0.27, promising improved fuel efficiency. While exact dimensions remain undisclosed, the new X3 is expected to surpass the outgoing model’s 4.7m length and nearly 1.9m width.

Code named G45, the new X3 boasts a wider track compared to its predecessor, with reduced rear axle lift and increased rigidity for enhanced driving dynamics without compromising comfort. Optional electronically controlled shock absorbers will be available for an adaptive chassis, along with a more direct steering ratio and advanced safety features.

The interior of the new X3 will likely feature fewer physical buttons, favoring touchscreen controls similar to modern BMWs. Speculations hint at the absence of a full X3 M model, with a high-performance M50 variant anticipated instead of the M40i. Additionally, BMW might remove the ‘i’ from petrol engine variants, reserving it for diesel and plug-in hybrid models labeled with ‘d’ and ‘e’ suffixes.

For hybrid enthusiasts, the new X3 plug-in hybrid (potentially named X3 xDrive30e) will offer an upgraded battery for extended electric range. The next-generation X3 EV, previewed by the Vision Neue Klasse X concept, is scheduled to arrive a year later on the Neue Klasse platform.

While details on the new X3’s Indian debut are pending, BMW plans to launch the all-new 5 Series and i5 in the country soon.
