According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new AI-backed features to be unveiled at WWDC 2024 will be branded as ‘Apple Intelligence.’ These features are expected to be available on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15, all of which are likely to be released during the conference. The upcoming AI features from Apple are designed to assist with basic, everyday tasks and will be integrated into the device’s system applications. Some features will rely on on-device processing capabilities, while others will use cloud-based computing. Potential features include AI-generated summaries of web pages, automated replies to messages and emails, sorting of email inboxes, and condensed outlines of messages for notifications.

Additionally, Apple is expected to enhance its Photos app with improved editing tools, potentially including a feature similar to Google’s Smart Eraser tool. The company may also introduce Generative AI features capable of generating emojis based on text, which users can save and use. Gurman also indicates that Apple will announce a deal with OpenAI during WWDC 2024, suggesting possible ChatGPT integration with iOS 18, iPadOS, macOS, and other platforms.
