BMW S 1000 XR launched at Rs 22.50 lakh

New Delhi: BMW has Launched the all-new S 1000 XR to replace the model launched in 2020. The S 1000 XR’s design, performance and features have been updated, and this motorcycle will be imported as a completely built unit.

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new S 1000 XR, an upgraded version of their popular sport touring motorcycle. This exciting iteration boasts a reworked in-line 4-cylinder engine derived from the iconic S 1000 RR. The powerplant now delivers 170hp at 11,000rpm and 114Nm at 9,250rpm, translating to a 5hp increase over the previous model. BMW claims an impressive 0-100kph acceleration in just 3.25 seconds and a top speed of 253kph. The design also sees refinements. The black beak fender has been replaced with a body-colored unit, while the rear section features new side panels and motorsport-inspired air intakes. The completely redesigned seat offers improved support for both track riding and touring, with a standard height of 850mm and the option for lowering. The S 1000 XR offers additional equipment based on the chosen package: Touring, Dynamics, or M Package. The standard Touring Package includes a luggage carrier, center stand, navigation integration, hand protection, tire pressure monitoring, and heated grips. The Dynamics Package, also standard, adds Dynamic ESA Pro electronic suspension adjustment, Shift Assistant Pro, and cruise control. The optional M Package upgrades the experience further with an M Sport seat, M Endurance chain, M GPS Laptrigger, sport silencer, tinted windscreen, and a lightweight battery. M forged wheels or optional M Carbon wheels are also available exclusively with the M Package, which comes with a distinct M Sport white color scheme and a price premium of Rs 2.50 lakh.

The all-new S 1000 XR carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 22.50 lakh in India, reflecting a Rs 40,000 increase compared to its predecessor. In the Indian market, this upgraded sport tourer will compete with established players like the Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak and the soon-to-be-launched Ducati Multistrada V4 RS.
