Google Photos to Reportedly Get New Feature That Turns Videos Into Cinematic Clips

New Delhi: A recent report suggests that Google Photos for Android may soon introduce a new feature enabling users to create “Cinematic Moments” from their stored videos. It is anticipated that the rumored Cinematic Moment feature will operate similarly to Cinematic Photos but with videos, potentially offering users an innovative way to enhance their video content.

Google Photos Cinematic Moment Feature Leak Details:

Android Authority, in collaboration with leaker Assemble Debug, uncovered details about a potential new feature called “Cinematic Moment” within the Google Photos app for Android version 6.84.0.634885033. Through an APK teardown, the report reveals that the app’s code indicates the presence of a video tool designed to automatically select segments of videos and apply a slow-motion effect, resembling a Cinematic Moment. Unlike the manual selection process for Cinematic Photos, this feature is reported to operate automatically, with users unable to manually generate a Cinematic Moment. However, there is speculation that Google may introduce manual control functionality in subsequent updates. The report underscores the absence of concrete information regarding the mechanics or rollout timeline of this feature. Notably, features discovered during APK teardowns are typically experimental and may not necessarily be included in the public release of the Google Photos app for Android smartphones. This development coincides with speculation surrounding Google’s potential expansion of AI editing features, currently exclusive to the Pixel 8 series, to older Pixel devices. Reports suggest features like Magic Editor may soon be available on devices such as the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 7, indicative of Google’s ongoing efforts to enhance user experiences across its device ecosystem.
