IIFL Foundation Provides Relief to 1,800 Flood-Affected in Dibrugarh

Guwahati: The IIFL Foundation, the CSR arm of the diversified financial services conglomerate IIFL Group, has made a significant contribution to relief efforts in Assam, a state severely impacted by seasonal floods. With support from its dedicated local staff volunteers, the foundation has provided relief to 1,800 individuals in Dibrugarh district.

Assam, along with many regions in eastern and northeastern India, has been grappling with severe floods that have disrupted lives, damaged infrastructure, and affected millions of people. In response to this crisis, the IIFL Foundation stepped in to offer much-needed support. The foundation distributed food and other life essentials to flood-affected individuals, aiming to alleviate the immediate hardships faced by the local community.

The relief operations were spearheaded by a team of local IIFL staff members, including Niloy Ghosh, Zonal Head of East India, IIFL Finance Gold Loan, Iqbal Hussain Tapadar, Regional Head of IIFL Finance Gold Loan, Ajay Das and Abhishek Dutta, Territory Managers at IIFL Finance Gold Loan, along with other dedicated staff from Assam such as Mousuf Shah, Gaurav Baruah, Jayshree Rajkhowa, Sanghamitra Paul Choudhury, Mintu Dutta, Tridib Hazarika, Sajida Hussain, and Debarshree Saikia. Their collaborative efforts ensured the effective distribution of relief materials to those in need.

Mrs. Madhu Jain, Director of IIFL Foundation, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting communities during times of crisis. “IIFL Foundation has been actively contributing to community efforts during crises and disasters across India through our local staff volunteers. We closely monitor the areas we operate in and strive to collaborate with local governments and communities to maximize our impact,” she stated.

Niloy Ghosh, Zonal Head of East India, expressed his gratitude for the support received from local authorities and the dedication of the IIFL staff volunteers. “This is a challenging time for the local community in Assam. We remain committed to providing ongoing support and are thankful for the cooperation we’ve received from local authorities and our team,” Ghosh said.
