Introducing the Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail – Discover the Exciting Details
New Delhi: Rolls-Royce has introduced the groundbreaking Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail, marking the company’s inaugural modern roadster body style. Drawing inspiration from the heavenly realm of Arcadia in Greek mythology, this luxurious vehicle boasts an intricate clock face that took five months to assemble. The unveiling took place at a private ceremony in Singapore, where the car was presented to its esteemed client.
Designers from Rolls-Royce Coachbuild have meticulously crafted a striking duotone color scheme for the Arcadia Droptail. The solid white body color incorporates aluminum and glass particles, creating a captivating visual effect. Additionally, Rolls-Royce specialists have developed a more elaborate metallic finish using larger aluminum particles, adding a further layer of sophistication.
Setting the Arcadia Droptail apart from its coachbuilt counterparts, the lower sections of this model utilize carbon fiber painted in a solid Bespoke silver color, deviating from the exposed or partially exposed carbon fiber construction found in the other three Droptail variants. Notably, the exterior grille surround, distinctive ‘kinked’ vane pieces, and 22-inch alloy wheels have undergone a meticulous mirror-polishing process, enhancing their elegance.
Inside the Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail, the interior exudes opulence with its use of Santos Straight Grain wood, renowned for its exquisite grain quality. This premium wood veneer extends throughout the vehicle, including the functional rear deck section. Considering its global usage, including tropical climates, the exterior wood surfaces have been diligently protected with a purpose-built lacquer, requiring only one application for the entire lifespan of the car.
The leather interior of the Arcadia Droptail showcases two bespoke hues—a main color in a white shade complementing the exterior paint theme and a contrasting tan shade. The interior design also showcases a remarkable shawl panel, the largest continuous wood section ever seen in a Rolls-Royce motor car. Crafted in the same Santos Straight Grain open pore veneer as the rear deck, it features individually shaped leaves, alluding to the sense of luxury found throughout.
One of the standout features inside the Arcadia Droptail is a clock designed by Rolls-Royce Coachbuild artisans. Boasting a geometric guilloche pattern with 119 facets, the clock harmonizes with the instrument dials, sharing materials and design elements. The repeated guilloche pattern, along with brushed and polished brightwork and frosted white inserts, echoes the car’s overall color scheme.
Rolls-Royce has truly achieved automotive excellence with the introduction of the Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail, combining meticulous craftsmanship, innovative design, and unparalleled luxury in this remarkable roadster.
