Kia Clavis to Feature Panoramic Sunroof and ADAS !
New Delhi: Kia’s upcoming compact SUV, positioned between the Sonet sub-four-meter SUV and the Seltos midsize SUV, has been spotted undergoing testing once again in India. New spy photos from Hyderabad reveal several features and design elements expected in the SUV.
The latest images reaffirm the previously seen design details, showcasing a boxy and upright exterior with wheels pushed out to the corners. Safety features like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and front parking sensors are indicated by the presence of a radar module at the front. Additional anticipated safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS, a 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring, and rear disc brakes.
The Clavis’s exterior is highlighted by a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and all-LED lighting, including vertically-positioned LED DRLs reminiscent of newer Kia SUVs. Inside, the SUV is expected to feature a digital instrument cluster similar to the Seltos and a sizable infotainment touchscreen, likely both measuring 10.25 inches. The diamond-cut alloy wheels, likely 16-inch, are reported to be fitted with MRF tires.
Top-tier Clavis variants are anticipated to offer ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, various drive and traction modes, climate control, leatherette upholstery, and a Bose audio system.
The Clavis will debut with both petrol and electric powertrains, with the electric variant expected about six months after the petrol launch. Both versions will share a platform, and a hybrid iteration may follow later. The petrol Clavis is slated for a late-year reveal and early next-year launch, while the electric version is expected by mid-2025. Production will primarily target the Indian market, with some units earmarked for export. Competitive pricing is anticipated due to local manufacturing, likely commanding a modest premium over the Sonet, which starts at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
