Latest Instagram updates for creators to make the most of this Onam.

Kochi: Before the Onam festival, 100 content creators were gathered today in Kochi, the purpose was to showcase how these creators can use the new features on Instagram, along with new platform Threads, to enhance  their storytelling and expand their viewership. The new features include Instagram Broadcast Channels and Meta Verified, and the new platform is Threads, which are already being put to use by creators in Kerala. 

Meta hosted a gathering aimed to highlight the new updates from Instagram designed to assist creators in expressing themselves, interacting with their followers, and participate in public conversations. Ankur Vaish, Head, Creator Partnerships at Facebook India (Meta) gave more context, “We’re invested in the success of creators across India, and the new updates from Instagram are a demonstration of that. Creators in Kerala have been keen to be frontrunners in showcasing creativity and engaging audiences, and the meetup today will be focused towards that. We will be highlighting new products and features, and showing the way they can manage their presence on the platform better.”

New Instagram Updates:

• Instagram Broadcast Channels – Broadcast channels serve as a public messaging tool that allows creators to invite all of their followers and share textual, video, and photographic updates in a one-to-many format. broadcast channels help creators deepen their connections with their followers. Creators such as Pearle Maaney and Chaithania Prakash already have popular channels. 
• Meta Verified – To help up-and-coming creators grow their presence and build community faster, Meta has announced a new offering called Meta Verified. It is a subscription bundle on Instagram and Facebook that includes a verified badge that authenticates your account with government ID, proactive account protection, and access to account support. You can access this through your Settings on Instagram. 
• Threads – Threads provides a fresh and distinct environment for immediate updates and open discussions. The vision with Threads is to take what Instagram does best and expand that to text, creating a positive and creative space to express ideas.   Just as on Instagram, Threads enables you to follow and connect with friends and creators who share your passions, including those you follow on Instagram and other connections. Moreover, you can utilize our existing range of safety measures and user controls.
