Mahindra XUV 3XO deliveries start May 26
New Delhi: In its latest earnings call today, Mahindra revealed an order backlog of about 2.2 lakh vehicles as on May 1. It includes the 50,000 orders received for the newly launched XUV 3XO, priced between Rs 7.49 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh. Bookings for XUV 3XO commenced on May 15, and the company claims that the number hit 50,000 in just 24 hours. Mahindra will start clearing the XUV 3XO’s order book when deliveries begin on May 26.
Mahindra, the Indian SUV specialist, has seen a positive response for its newly launched compact SUV, the XUV 3OO. Although the company has not disclosed which of the nine variants or which of the six engine and gearbox combinations are the most popular, the initial reception has been encouraging. For context, when the pre-facelift version, the XUV300, was launched in February 2019, it took a month and a half for bookings to surpass the 26,000 mark. To meet the current demand for the XUV 3OO, Mahindra has already produced over 10,000 units since its launch on April 29.
The XUV 3OO competes with several notable models in the compact SUV segment, including the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Toyota Taisor, and Maruti’s Brezza and Fronx. It boasts several best-in-segment features such as dual-zone climate control, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology, and a panoramic sunroof. The XUV 3OO offers three engine options: a. 111hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, b. 131hp, 1.2-litre direct injection turbo-petrol engine, c. 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine The 111hp and 131hp petrol engines are available with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions. The 117hp diesel engine is available with a manual gearbox and a 6-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) option. Overall, the XUV 3OO’s combination of advanced features, diverse engine options, and competitive positioning has made it a strong contender in the compact SUV market.
