New Aston Martin Vantage launched at Rs 3.99 crore
New Delhi: Aston Martin has launched the all-new Vantage in India, with prices starting from Rs 3.99 crore (ex-showroom, India). Globally unveiled just a couple of months ago, Aston’s sports coupe has been extensively restyled on the outside, but even more significant are the updates to the interior; there’s a new dashboard and an all-new software platform. Under the hood, the Vantage retains the Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine, but it receives a massive bump in power.
Aston Martin Vantage: exterior design
The redesigned Vantage presents a striking visual evolution from its predecessor, marked notably by a more assertive front fascia. A prominent grille spans nearly the entire width of the bumper, complemented by redesigned intakes and enhanced character lines along the bonnet. The headlamps have been enlarged and now feature a distinctive three-piece LED daytime running light signature, establishing a cohesive design language shared with the DB12 and reminiscent of the iconic One-77 supercar. In profile, subtle revisions to the air ducts on the fenders contribute to the model’s refined aerodynamics. At the rear, a more aggressive bumper and diffuser arrangement further accentuate the Vantage’s dynamic presence. Noteworthy enhancements include a 30mm increase in width, resulting in an improved overall stance, as well as the introduction of sleek frameless mirrors and flush electronic door handles. These meticulous design updates collectively underscore the Vantage’s commitment to both performance and visual distinction, positioning it as a formidable presence within its segment.
Aston Martin Vantage: interior and features
The interior of the new Vantage mirrors advancements from the DB12, prioritizing connectivity, engagement, and refinement. Aston Martin addresses previous criticisms by introducing a redesigned, in-house-developed infotainment platform with a 10.25-inch touchscreen. This system offers seamless connectivity, including 3D live mapping and wireless smartphone mirroring. While embracing digital technology, Aston Martin maintains tactile user interfaces for essential functions, alongside dedicated buttons for driver control. Interior upgrades include a new steering wheel design, modernized digital instrument cluster, and improved fit and finish, enhancing the overall experience of the Vantage’s cabin.
Aston Martin Vantage: powertrain, specs
Aston Martin’s latest Vantage receives a substantial power boost, with its Mercedes-AMG-derived V8 now delivering 665hp and 800Nm of torque. This upgrade, achieved through extensive tuning, brings the Vantage’s performance in line with its predecessor’s V12 variant, boasting a 0-100kph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 325kph. The enhancements include revised cam profiles, adjusted compression ratios, and larger turbochargers. Paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, the Vantage maintains its 50:50 weight distribution and features adaptive dampers, an electronic rear differential, and 21-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires. While no plans for electrification have been announced, the V8 engine also powers Mercedes-AMG’s plug-in hybrids. Competing with models like the Bentley Continental GT and Porsche 911, the Vantage offers a compelling blend of performance and refinement in the Indian market.
