New Maruti Dzire to be Launched soon

New Delhi: The third-gen Maruti Dzire has been on the market for nearly seven years now, and later this year, it’s finally going to see a generation update based on the all-new Swift that’s debuting next month. The compact sedan will boast of evolutionary styling updates, an all-new interior with a few segment-first features as well as a brand-new heart with the new Z Series engine. The launch is expected in the second half of 2024, so let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from the all-new Dzire.

Dzire styling to be different from Swift

Industry sources suggest that the India-spec Swift will feature subtle styling variations compared to its global counterpart, while the Dzire is set to undergo even greater differentiation. Noteworthy changes include a revamped rear end for the Dzire, along with distinct bumpers, alloy wheels, and potentially varied headlamp designs. Maruti’s strategy focuses on enhancing the visual distinction between both models with each new generation, despite sharing some sheet metal components. As a result, consumers can anticipate a unique identity for both the Swift and Dzire, reflecting Maruti’s commitment to catering to diverse market preferences.

Dzire will be better equipped than Swift

Maruti Suzuki is expected to carry forward the dashboard from the Swift which we know has a lot in common with the Baleno and Fronx. But to differentiated it slightly from its hatchback sibling, Maruti is expected to equip the Dzire with a few additional features. Spy shots have already hinted at a segment-first single-pane sunroof, and there could be other features such as a 360-degree camera as well.

Dzire will get a new Z Series petrol engine

Under the hood, however, the new Dzire will be identical to the Swift. The K Series 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine will be replaced by the new Z Series 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine, and like on the Swift, it will get India-specific tweaks with a focus on emissions, efficiency and output. We expect Maruti to continue with the 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes, which will be tailored for Indian conditions. A factory-fitted CNG kit will be added to the line-up at a later stage.

Dzire expected to launch on second half of 2024

Maruti Suzuki is expected to schedule the launch of the Dzire about 3-6 months after the Swift. With the Swift launching next month, the Dzire can be expected closer to the festive season. It will continue to rival the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor, but given the updates, expect a fair bump up in prices.
