Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets President Biden.

Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Joseph R. Biden in New Delhi. This marks President Biden’s first visit to India as President and he is here to participate in the G20 Summit scheduled for September 9-10, 2023.During their meeting, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for President Biden’s commitment to strengthening the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the United States. This partnership is founded on shared democratic values, strategic alignment and robust people-to-people connections.Both leaders praised the progress made in implementing the various forward-looking initiatives that resulted from Prime Minister Modi’s historic state visit to the U.S. in June 2023, including the India-U.S. Initiative for Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET).

They welcomed the ongoing collaboration between the two countries in multiple areas such as defense, trade, investment, education, healthcare, research, innovation, culture, and people-to-people ties.President Biden extended warm congratulations to Prime Minister Modi and the Indian people on the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 near the lunar south pole. He also emphasized the deepening cooperation between India and the United States in the field of space exploration.

Additionally, the leaders discussed various regional and global issues, concurring that the India-U.S. partnership benefits not only their respective citizens but also contributes to the greater global good.Prime Minister Modi expressed his appreciation to President Biden for the consistent support provided by the United States in ensuring the success of India’s G20 Presidency.
