Redmi Pad Pro 5G Design, Colourways Revealed; Confirmed to Launch Soon
New Delhi: Unveiled in China back in April, the Redmi Pad Pro is gearing up for a potential launch in India. This tablet boasts a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, a long-lasting 10,000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities, and a stunning 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD display. Initially offered in China with Wi-Fi connectivity and three RAM/storage configurations, the Redmi Pad Pro’s imminent arrival in India is further hinted at by its recent appearance on the Google Play Console. Notably, a 5G variant of the tablet has also been confirmed, potentially offering wider connectivity options for Indian users.
Redmi Pad Pro 5G launch
Redmi has confirmed the upcoming launch of a 5G variant for its Pad Pro tablet, building upon the Wi-Fi only model unveiled in China back in April. This news comes from a post by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, who revealed details on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The 5G variant, as expected, will boast support for 5G SIM cards, potentially offering faster data connectivity for users in supported regions. Additionally, Jun highlighted a new “network sync” feature, allowing users to effortlessly connect their phone’s mobile hotspot to the tablet with a single tap, streamlining internet access on the go. While the exact launch date remains under wraps, the teaser poster hints at a design that closely resembles the existing Wi-Fi model. This includes similar colorways (likely Dark Grey and Shallow Blue) and compatible accessories like a stylus, keyboard, and cover case. This suggests that the core features and design will likely remain unchanged, with the primary upgrade being the inclusion of 5G connectivity.

Like the existing Redmi Pad Pro, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G is likely to feature a 12.1-inch 2.5K (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) resolution LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 180Hz touch sampling rate, a peak brightness level of 600 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Redmi Pad Pro 5G is also expected to come with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, a 10,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired fast charging, an 8-megapixel rear sensor, and an 8-megapixel front camera sensor. The teaser confirms that the tablet will ship with Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS.
