Tata Curvv to be launch this festive season

New Delhi: The Curvv is one of the most anticipated new models from Tata Motors that was supposed to go on sale by the first half of 2024. However, market launch and price announcement has been delayed by a few months. The Tata Curvv will arrive in its EV iteration first, followed by the petrol and diesel variants.

Tata Curvv: what to expect?

Earlier this year, Tata Motors showcased a near-production version of the Curvv at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024. The Curvv, which is based on the Nexon, features a similar design language with unique EV-specific design elements for its electric variants. In terms of dimensions, the Curvv is set to be 313mm longer than the Nexon, with an extended wheelbase of 62mm. The interior of the Curvv will share many elements with the Nexon. Under the hood, the Tata Curvv will be equipped with the brand’s new 125hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The diesel variants will utilize the Nexon’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine, positioning the Curvv as only the third diesel offering in the midsize SUV segment. Additionally, a CNG version is anticipated at a later stage. For the electric version, the Curvv will employ Tata’s Gen 2 acti.ev architecture, which is expected to deliver a range of 450-500km, although specific technical details are currently limited.

Tata Motors is targeting annual sales volumes of approximately 80,000 units across all powertrain options. The company projects monthly EV sales of around 2,000 units, with the internal combustion engine (ICE) variants expected to add another 5,000 units per month. Production of the Curvv models will take place at Tata Motors’ joint venture facility with Stellantis in Ranjangaon.
