Tishaa Kumar, Daughter of T-Series’ co-owner Krishan Kumar, Passes Away from Cancer
New Delhi: Tishaa Kumar, daughter of actor-producer Krishan Kumar of T-Series and niece of Bhushan Kumar, passed away on Thursday, July 18, at the age of 21. The young woman’s life was cut short by a prolonged battle with cancer. Her family released a statement expressing their profound sadness and announced that her last rites, initially scheduled for today, had to be postponed to tomorrow due to incessant rain in Mumbai, which caused a flight delay. The family also mentioned that the prayer meet would proceed as planned at Ruby Ballroom, Hotel Sahara Star, on Monday, July 22, at 4 PM.
“Dear Friends and Family, it is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Tishaa Kumar, cherished daughter of Krishan Kumar and Tanya Kumar, on July 18th, 2024. Due to bad weather in Mumbai, the flight is diverted to Ahmedabad causing a delay in landing in Mumbai, hence we have to unfortunately perform the last rites tomorrow. The prayer meet remains as per schedule. Your presence and support during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated,” the family’s statement read.
Reports indicate that Tishaa Kumar had been battling cancer for several years and was undergoing treatment in Germany, where she ultimately passed away. A spokesperson for T-Series confirmed, “Tishaa Kumar, daughter of Krishan Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle with an illness. This is a difficult time for the family, and we kindly request that the family’s privacy is respected.”
Krishan Kumar Dua, Tishaa’s father, is well-known for his role in the film ‘Bewafa Sanam’ (1995) and has co-produced several notable films such as ‘Lucky: No Time For Love,’ ‘Ready,’ ‘Darling,’ ‘Airlift,’ and ‘Satyamev Jayate.’ Tishaa was born on September 6, 2003, to Krishan Kumar and Tanya Singh, who is the daughter of composer Ajit Singh and sister of actress Nattasha Singh. Tishaa made her last public appearance on November 30, 2023, at the premiere of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal.’
The loss of Tishaa Kumar has left a significant void in her family and among those who knew and loved her. Her untimely death is a tragic reminder of the profound impact of illness, and the family has requested privacy as they navigate this difficult period.
